Brooklyn Central library showcased their Fashion Academy alumni and current graduates fashion creation paired with essential tech coding elements to designers’ collections.
Fashion Academy is a free intensive fashion design program. Brooklyn applicants were selected to debut their fashion collections which incorporated Neo – Victorianism, Steampunk and Afrofuturism concepts. Microsoft was one of the major sponsors and provided designers with coding engineers to assist with incorporating tech elements to their collections.
As models walked down the catwalk, you can see the attached lights flashing through an array of lightweight flowy fabrics. Some designers opted to focus on more of an architectural look by offering geometric shapes and straight sharp style-lines which was quit reminiscent of 80s fashions.
The graduates skill levels range from beginner to advance but all levels successfully communicated the theme and technology focus through their designs.
